CBD or Melatonin for sleep

There are studies that say getting the right sleep, especially around 7-9 hours, is vital for our health, and the way that we function. Most of us don’t’ get that, so we have to look for other items to help with getting better sleep. Both CBD and melatonin are oftentimes touted as the best ways to get sleep in a way that helps you really benefit from this. Both are used to manage the cases of insomnia, but what’s better for you? What’s good for a lot of people who suffer from diffenrt forms? Let’s find out.

CBD

CBD is one that's one of the major cannabinoids that you find within the plant, and it contains very trace amounts of THC, and it’s a legal substance. This is analgesic, anti-inflammatory, eases anxiety, and is naturally neuroprotective. It’s also not intoxicating, so if you’re worried about getting high or you can’t, you don’t have t worry about this. It works with the endocannabinoid system in order to provide pain relief, and also reduce anxiety.

People use CBD for a lot of different treasons, with this being used to help with stress, anxiety, improving the mood, relieving pain in lots of cases, and many will turn to this as a sleep aid. Some even use it to help with seizure reduction too. Plus, it can help with depression, anxiety, inflammation, PTSD, and also improve the brain function because it’s neuroprotective.

The benefits of this are for helping people feel more comfortable. Many people do turn to this to help with their sleep issues, relieving the problems associated with this.

What’s Melatonin

This is one that the pineal gland of the brain makes, and it’s what helps control the light-dark cycles, and many times, our body secretes it in response. This is really good for rhythms, and our sleep-wake cycles.

While the body makes this, many people supplement this as well, in order to help with the internal clock.

This is good for regulating the wakefulness and sleep of the body, and it can help with making it so that our body goes to sleep on time. Most of us struggle with going to bed at the right time, especially with using phones and blue light, and it can impact sleep.

Melatonin can help with many sleep disorders, including insomnia, hypersomnolence, obstructive sleep apnea, hypopnea syndrome, central sleep apnea syndrome, and also parasomnias. These are usually something that's not totally attributed to medical or psychiatric conditions, and it can help with resetting your internal clock.

The similarities

Both of these works with sleep, but there are a few things that set both of these apart from one another. CBD is from the cannabis plant, but supplements of melatonin are usually man made. Both of these do treat sleep issues but melatonin is used for primary sleep disorders, while CBDE handles the mental issues associated with this, including anxiety, stress, along with inflammation that may hinder the way that you sleep.

They also are made based on the way that they work within the body. CBD does target the mood, pain, and the like, while melatonin works well with the hormones.

The best way to choose what works for you is the issue at hand. If you have a sleep disorder such as insomnia, or you’re suffering from jet lag, you’ll want to definitely use this.

If you’re dealing with anxiety, some inflammation, or maybe you’ve got some pain that’s impacting sleep, CBD may be the better option.

In both instances, talk to a doctor before you use it, in order to get the best results that you can out of this.
